Our Vision & Ethos
Our Vision
![]() |
At Bishop Justus, we want every young person to live life “to the full” (John 10:10).
Jesus describes himself as the Good Shepherd. The shepherd knows his sheep, cares for them and leads them well. That picture shapes our vision. We want every student and every member of staff to grow, flourish and reach their potential.
We believe this happens through excellent teaching, a broad and balanced curriculum and a wide range of experiences beyond the classroom. We want our students to achieve strong outcomes and to discover and use their talents fully.

We are a diverse and welcoming community. The Bible tells many stories of people who faced challenges and grew through faith and perseverance. We learn from those stories and from one another.
Our motto says it clearly: Success through Faith, Love and Learning.
We work together so that every young person leaves us ready for the next stage of life — confident, capable and prepared.

Our Ethos
|
We want our students to develop strong character and high ambition.
Our six virtues — Courage, Wisdom, Kindness, Hope, Faith and Love — guide daily life in our school. They shape how we behave, how we learn and how we treat one another.
We expect our students to work hard and think carefully. Strong academic skills and a strong work ethic matter. At the same time, we expect compassion, respect and care for others.

Our virtues are rooted in Christian teaching, especially the parable of the Good Shepherd in John 10. These virtues are shared human values. They can be embraced by everyone in our community, whatever their background or belief.
During their time at Bishop Justus, students grow in character as well as knowledge. When they leave, we want them to be well-rounded young adults — thoughtful, resilient and ready to live life in all its fullness. |

Spirituality statement
|
As a Church of England school, we believe there is more to life than what we can see straight away.
We encourage pupils to ask big questions. We create space for reflection and prayer. We celebrate the beauty and diversity of the world and of one another.
Spiritual growth at Bishop Justus means learning to notice, to reflect and to care. It inspires us to serve our community, reflect God’s love and live out our Trust's mission of 'Life Transforming Learning'. |
